Lineage 2: Rise of Darkness

Release date: May 2005
Genre: MMORPG
Developer: NCsoft
Version: Lineage II Rise of Darkness
The Seven Signs event, during which two factions—the Lords of Dawn and the Revolutionary Army of Dusk—fight for control of the seals. Any sufficiently advanced character may choose to register for the event, but not registering may mean missing out on rewards. Seal Stones are special event items obtained by defeating monsters. These stones can later be exchanged for Ancient Adena, the second currency of the Lineage II world.
With the introduction of the Seven Signs, numerous catacombs and necropolises appeared throughout the world, serving as the event locations where players can collect Seal Stones. Only characters registered for the event may enter the catacombs. Each event cycle lasts two weeks. During the first, the competition period, players compete in the Festival of Darkness, collect Seal Stones, and contribute them to their faction. The second week is the seal-effect period. The winners can exchange their collected and previously contributed stones for Ancient Adena. Access to catacombs and necropolises is restricted to the faction that controls the corresponding seals after the competition. Players without access rights are forcibly teleported outside when they first encounter a monster inside.
The lord of Aden Castle gained the ability to fly on a fire-breathing wyvern, a dragon-like creature that requires significant resources to summon and maintain. A-grade weapons and armor, as well as the subclass system, were also introduced.
